“Harbourside Condominiums

Medway Homes built. Marketed as being near the Ausable River. They are however tucked away off Erin Place which is off Gill Road. Where is Gill Road? It’s on the east side of the Ausable River.

To find it, let’s start at the corner of Ontario Street and Main Street, the village’s main intersection. Gill Road is two blocks east of this intersection on the right-hand side. Gill Street goes south, and it follows the curvature of the river.

The Harbourside Condominiums are set back from the street at the end of a cul-de-sac on Erin Place. Many of the homes on Erin Place are in the million-dollar price range. Here you will find a collection of 37 detached, one-floor vacant land condos. Some units back onto farmer’s fields and others onto a greenbelt area.

Given that only one builder built out the entire complex, there is a continuity to the design style. That’s a good thing. Unit sizes are 1179, 1193, 1260, 1305, 1380, 1468, 1473 square feet. Size differences are somewhat noticeable. Garage sizes also vary.

James Hordie Board and stone banding exteriors. The siding is in various shades of grey and taupe. Black shingles, white trim, mostly white however some taupe-coloured garage doors. Peaked front rooflines, covered front entrances, or covered rear decks. Interlocking brick driveways.

Nine-foot ceilings with trayed ceilings in the living room/great room, an open staircase to the lower level and main floor laundries. Some oversized basement windows. Gas or electric fireplaces.

The condo fees in 2013 were in the $185.00 per month range. That’s a good thing. It’s nice when one builder builds out the entire complex. This creates a uniformity of designs tyles. Once again, the square footage found here varies widely.
